Night Sky Summary
After losing Sarah, the friend he’s loved, to some other guy, Jameson meets Sky. Her Native American roots, fluid movements, and need for brutal honesty become addictive fast. This is good. Jameson needs distraction – his dad leaves for another woman, his mom’s walking around like a zombie, and Sarah’s new boyfriend can’t keep his hands off of her.

As he spends time with Sky and learns about her village, her totems, and her friends with drums - she's way more than distraction. Jameson's falling for her fast.

But Sky’s need for honesty somehow doesn’t extend to her life story – and Jameson just may need more than his new girl to keep him distracted from the disaster of his senior year.

How Jolene came up with Night Sky:
What's funny about how this story came up is that I was stalking literary agents that I wanted to sign with. Two of them said they'd love to see more male POV books, and I thought - I grew up hanging with the boys in my neighborhood and a whole load of boy cousins. I can SO do that!

I spent the next week or so tossing around ideas. My husband and I were sitting in a drive-thru waiting for our meal and I was telling him that I'd re-watched Pretty In Pink (an old eighties movie) and said - I still think she ended up with the wrong guy.

Wanting to know what happened to the best friend who was in love with this girl, but didn't get her, became my jumping off point.

I also knew that I'd read bad-boy after bad-boy, so I wanted to write one of the nice guys.

So, I wanted Jameson to be a good guy, but not perfect. He's in student government, and is captain of the swim team, but he doesn't have loads of friends, and is pretty laid back when it comes to school.

I love that he sometimes acted first, and thought later, and all of Jameson's little flaws made him all the more real to me.

I didn't know Sky was Native American until Jameson drove up behind her. All I knew is that she needed to be the opposite of the friend that shafted Jameson.

And that's how Night Sky came to be.

Thanks so much for having me on your blog!

~ Jolene
